Young Women In Bio (YWIB) is a nationwide, nonprofit, volunteer organization that encourages young women and girls to explore opportunities, education, and careers in STEM.

Our mission at YWIB-Southern California is to create programs and events that ignite girls’ curiosity of the sciences while nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit. Our events are geared towards encouraging middle and high school girls to consider the life sciences as a career choice by giving them exposure to different aspects of the thriving Greater San Diego biotechnology ecosystem. 

Our goal is to connect the diverse Greater San Diego community of young women with the robust and innovative science community right at our backdoor. 

YWIB-Southern California is always open to collaborating, partnering, or volunteering with local organizations and sponsors committed to STEM education and who support the prosperous professional future of young women.
