Our current programs include:

Peer Groups

Peer Groups are local informal meetings of six to ten women who are interested in discussing topics of common professional interest and provide consistent support, advice, and encouragement to each other. Peer Groups are typically a mix of seniority, roles, and types of life science companies. Meetings are self-directed, with the group deciding when, where, and how often to meet. Some groups may choose to meet over breakfast or lunch, and others may meet in the evenings or for dinner or wine tastings. Ultimately, every MAPS Group will develop its own character that reflects its members’ personalities, interests, goals, and schedules. WIB Membership is required to participate.

Our WIB-Philadelphia Metro Peer Groups are in Center City Philadelphia, Bucks County, New Jersey, and Philadelphia Suburbs. Sign up for an upcoming Peer Group Event to learn more and join us. If you have questions, contact

Mentoring Circles

Our program is based on the concept of mentoring circles, which promotes diversity of thinking, practice, and understanding. Don’t miss this opportunity to share your challenges and insights in a supportive environment, learn from senior women and peers in the industry, support other dynamic WIB members, and grow your network. WIB members at all stages of their careers, whether in academia or industry, are encouraged to participate.

  • Mentoring groups of 3–5 mentees and one mentor will be assigned based on information provided in the applications, including professional goals and seniority.
  • The program runs for three months and is offered twice a year, one beginning in April and another in September.
  • The mentoring groups are self-driven, i.e. each group will organize the time, location, format, and focus of the meetings. As such, the program is designed to respect participants' busy schedules, as well as provide a more individualized experience for participants.
  • Groups are expected to meet bi-monthly via conference call/video. WIB- Philadelphia Metro’s MAPS committee will provide ongoing support for the mentoring groups throughout the process.
  • WIB Membership is required to participate.

New opportunities to join us will be announced in our chapter newsletter and on social media. If you have questions, please contact
